On Sunday, November 1, 2015, Performa presents its Opening Night Gala in New York City. The Gala celebrates Performa’s 10th Anniversary and kicks off Performa 15, the sixth international biennial of new visual art performance, taking place across New York City from November 1 - 22, 2015.
The 2015 Gala celebration includes an intimate supper at the Four Seasons Restaurant followed by a premiere performance at St. Bart’s Church of Fortuna Desperata, an artistic collaboration between Francesco Vezzoli and David Hallberg. The evening concludes with a dessert and cocktail reception following the performance.
This year’s Gala pays tribute to the Renaissance and the centuries of artists who brought visual culture to life through rituals and pageantries, continuing Performa’s legacy of tying historical practices to the contemporary realm.
