Simon Fujiwara

Simon Fujiwara (b. 1982, London; lives and works in Berlin) creates novels, lectures, performances, and installations that involve his personal biography.  Fujiwara plays with the role of the artist as itinerant globetrotter and multi-cultural guru, acknowledging a collective desire for exotic or foreign narratives, without casting judgment. Fujiwara’s work has been presented in solo and group exhibitions internationally such as MUSAC, León, Spain (2010); 29th São Paulo Biennial, Brazil (2010); 53rd Venice Biennale, Italy (2009); Bringing Up Knowledge, Impersonator, MAK Center for Contemporary Art, Los Angeles (2009), and The Architecture Foundation, London.
