Laura Lima (b. 1971, Brazil) works with living beings, both humans and animals, as parts of a larger whole, connecting them to, or contrasting them with, other objects.
Her work has been exhibited widely across Brazil and internationally, at institutions including the National Gallery of Denmark, Copenhagen (2015); Museo de Arte Moderno, Buenos Aires (2015); Museu de Arte Moderna de São Paulo, São Paulo (2015); Bonnierskonsthall, Stockholm (2014); Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, Boston (2013); Museo Universitario Arte Contemporáneo, Mexico City (2013); and Somerset House, London (2012). Lima’s work was included in the 14th Istanbul Biennial, Istanbul (2015); 30th São Paulo Biennial, São Paulo (2013); 11th Havana Biennial, Havana (2012); and 11th Biennial de Lyon (2011), among others.
